Their big reveal came during a date night out at a Netflix red carpet event
Gina Rodriguez is beaming about baby No. 2!
On Friday, July 11, the Jane the Virgin alum, 40, announced her pregnancy at the red carpet for Netflix’s Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 fight at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Photos showed the mom-to-be smiling with joy as she cradled her belly during her date night out at the boxing event. She wore a short-sleeved floor-length, black and floral dress that molded to her body.
Her husband, 38-year-old Joe LoCicero, joined her for photos as they embraced one another for the joyous moment. PEOPLE has reached out to their reps for comment.

Rodriguez and her Someone Great co-star have been married since 2019. The couple are already parents to a son, Charlie Ray, whom they welcomed in 2023.
She previously told PEOPLE the significance of her son’s name, revealing that both his first and middle names were inspired by deceased family members.
In January, the Miss Bala actress spoke exclusively with PEOPLE for PEOPLE in 10 about motherhood and why she was afraid to have a second child.
"I wanna post everything about him but I limit it, and I know at some point I'm gonna have to stop because it's his life, but I'm just so in love," she said of her "eloquent" toddler.
"His communication is unbelievable, and I'm so grateful for it because he communicates what he wants, what he needs, his boundaries — he's teaching me boundaries!" Rodriguez told PEOPLE.
She also opened up about how much she’s learning from her baby boy.

"I'm not teaching him anything, he's teaching me everything," she said.
When discussing the possibility of a sibling for Charlie during the January interview, Rodriguez told PEOPLE, "It's gonna happen anyways, so I'm not trying to force it sooner than it needs to.”
She continued, "I'm afraid to have a second because of how much I love this guy. I already feel guilty about not being available to him at all times."

The Will Trent star has also been open about being a hands-on mom for her son.
"Since my baby's been born, we don't do nannies, we don't do childcare — it is us," Rodriguez told PEOPLE in September 2024 of her and LoCicero’s parenting style.

"I put my child to sleep every single night for the entirety of his existence, which means at 7:00 p.m. on, I am not a human being. I am my child's pillow," the Lucky 13 star said.
She later added, "But this might be my only baby, so I just wanted to do it the way I wanted to do it."
