It's finally happening! The Yellowstone spinoff starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser has begun production. According to an Instagram post by actor Finn Little, who reprises his role as Carter in the spinoff, production has finally begun on the long-awaited follow-up to the popular Paramount Network series.

In his post. Little wrote, "... So it is true! 🤠" He tagged Taylor Sheridan, who created Yellowstone, and Reilly and Hauser, who will also reprise their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, respectively. Notice he also tagged Annette Bening.

Finn Little announces the 'Yellowstone' spinoff has gone into production.

Bening has been cast as Beulah Jackson, the head of a major Texas ranch (maybe the 6666?). A multiple Academy Award, Tony, and Emmy nominee as well as a BAFTA and Golden Globe winner, Bening is best known for her work in American Beauty, The Grifters, Regarding Henry and The American President.

The series, currently filming under the name Rio Palo, began production in mid-August in Ferris, Texas, a small town about 20 miles south of Dallas, Texas. While no word on what the plot will be for the new series, it appears Rip and Beth have relocated to the Lone Star state with their young charge, Carter. Will they be working for Bening's character or going up against her? We can't wait to find out!

Taylor Sheridan's productions have been a boon for the local economy in Texas. Several of his shows, including Landman and 1883, have been filmed in Texas.Lioness and The Madison will reportedly also film in Texas this fall.

Sheridan has had a prolific producing career. Not only did hecreate and produce Yellowstone, he did the same for Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, Lioness, Landman, 1883, 1923, as well as the upcoming untitled Luke Grimes spinoff, The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Fox.
