Martha Stewart is building her dream pool.
The lifestyle expert, 84, posted about her “biggest building project of the year” in an Instagram post on Saturday, Aug. 30.
The celebrity chef described that she is building a swimming pool on the site of the historic Maine mansion she had purchased and knocked down several years ago, noting that the project “might actually be completed in the near future.” She wrote, “The basement contained a massive and glorious pink granite rock - part of the landscape. I immediately thought the large basement with its unique perimeter shape and interior depth would make the perfect swimming pool.”

In the collection of photos Stewart posted, fans can get a look at the pink rock jutting out of the pool’s floor. It appears as if the border of the pool’s edge is made with a coordinating pink stone, per the photos posted.
In addition to the “very long pool,” Stewart said she is planning to build a hot tub, pool house and area to play volleyball and badminton.

“Most fabulous of all are the expansive views of the numerous islands to the south, the ocean and the harbor,” she added.
In the caption, Stewart marveled at the “highly skilled local contractors” and concluded the post by writing, “Keep up the great work everyone I want to swim soon !!!!!!!”
The soon-to-be pool destination was formerly Ox Ledge, a mansion caddy-cornered with Stewart’s Seal Harbor, Maine estate that the mogul bought in 2015 and tore down in 2021, per local news outlet Mount Desert Islander.
Followers gawked at Stewart’s architectural project, complimenting her “incredible taste” and the size of the pool.
“That is a swimming…lake 😂,” real estate mogul Ryan Serhant joked. Another person wrote, “Only Martha can repurpose an old building into a FABULOUS pool , with a natural pink rock feature. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥”
Stewart recently celebrated her 84th birthday on Aug. 3 with family by her side. Her daughter Alexis, 59, baked a cake for the businesswoman, according to an Instagram post. In an Instagram Stories post, Martha reshared a photo her 14-year-old granddaughter Jude Stewart posted, showing the pair out to eat at a seafood restaurant. (Alexis, is also mom to son Truman, 13.)
