The conservative nonprofit organization Citizens for Sanity launched a guerrilla marketing campaign Thursday in Washington, D.C., praising President Donald Trump for “keeping D.C. safe and calling out the left’s hypocrisy on safety measures,” according to a statement obtained by the Daily Caller.

The campaign follows a series of executive orders from Trump creating a D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force to clean up the nation’s capital and declaring an emergency to crack down on crime. The two-week period after Trump’s Aug. 11 takeover saw a 21% lower crime rate than the same period in 2024, according to Metropolitan Police Department data.

Citizens for Sanity aims to “highlight the importance of logic and reason” and “defeat ‘wokeism’ and anti-critical thinking ideologies,” according to their mission statement. The nonprofit employs billboards and other forms of advertising across the country. They have now turned their attention to Washington, D.C., with an ad campaign featuring box trucks, billboards and building projections, according to the statement obtained by the Caller.

One ad, projected on buildings, compares the alleged sentiments of those opposing Trump’s use of D.C. police and the National Guard to his motivations. “The left: ‘DC doesn’t have a crime problem,'” one part says while the second reads, “President Trump: ‘I’ll make sure DC doesn’t have a crime problem.'” (RELATED: DC Mayor Orders Local Cooperation With Federal Crime Crackdown)

Citizens for Sanity Executive Director Ian Prior issued a statement to the Caller. “President Trump is holding D.C. criminals’ feet to the fire and Citizens For Sanity is proud to launch a campaign that proves strong leadership can keep communities safe. While the Left politicizes public safety measures, President Trump is implementing common-sense policies that put patriotic Americans FIRST.”

A digital ad lists more of the Citizens for Sanity’s depictions of the left on this issue, according to a transcript. These include, “Don’t lock up any of the violent criminals or drug dealers, they have rights too!” and “Stop complaining about the toilet paper being locked up at the grocery store.”

“But President Trump said: ‘Lock up the criminals! Clean up D.C.!'” the transcript reads.

“D.C. went from chaos to cleanup because Trump brought the hammer,” the ad continues. “Turns out crime in D.C. can go down when you have leadership with common sense and a spine.”

Citizens for Sanity will continue the campaign through Friday.
