Fans of the iconic '90s show, Melrose Place, might not love Heather Locklear's recent comment about the status of its possible reboot.
Collider reported that Locklear spoke about the 2024 reports that Melrose Place is getting the reboot treatment while on a panel for the 2025 Fan Expo Canada, which took place from August 21 to 25.
“Another big question here is, I think it was last year, it was announced that they're trying to do a reboot reunion for Melrose Place. What's the status of that?” inquired the panel's moderator, Collider reporter, Maggie Lovitt.
Locklear replied by suggesting she hasn't received an update about the reboot.
“Crickets," said the actress.
She also said it wasn't her responsibility to make sure that the reboot progresses.
“It’s not my job," said Locklear.
While on the panel, Locklear did say she is interested in playing her Melrose Place character, Amanda Woodward, again. Locklear said the character "made quite an impact on [her]."
"I always got to throw the desk up and throw the man on top of it, and then me on top of that. So who wouldn't like that?" quipped Locklear.
Other 'Melrose Place' Stars Have Spoken About a Potential Reboot
The original Melrose Place ended after its seventh season in 1999. The series had a one-season reboot in 2009, per Deadline.
In April 2024, Deadline reported that a reboot for the series was underway. According to the publication, Locklear, Laura Leighton, who played Sydney Andrews, and Daphne Zuniga, who played Jo Reynolds, were part of the CBS Studios revival.
People magazine reported that Locklear, Leighton, Zuniga, and their Melrose Place castmates Josie Bissett, Brooke Langton, and Grant Show, addressed filming a new reboot during the 90s Con Florida in September 2024. Zuniga said the reboot "is in talks" and all of the show's original cast members "has agreed to do it."
"Business affairs and lawyers and all those types are talking about it, and they do want to do it," said Zuniga during the 90s Con Florida panel.
Leighton chimed in that while "The stars need to align," the cast "want it as much as the fans want it."
